new people

so the one good thing about having lived in san marcos for about 3.5 years now is that you recognize the newbies working at h-e-b, and know to avoid them if you're trying to get out of there as soon as possible.

take tonight, for instance. two of the express lanes were open, i recognized that the girl in lane 2 didn't look familiar, but i recognized that the girl at lane 1 was the girl that kinda looks half-black and whose name i can never remember but i remember that she was out for several months because she broke her leg and came back to work while still in a cast. see, and i know that girl knows who i am, knows i'm 21, and knows i always pay with my card. she, like most of the other cashiers at h-e-b, probably thinks i'm an alcoholic because to them, it probably seems like all i ever do is go in there and buy beer. which is fine with me. i'm perfectly fine with people thinking i'm an alcoholic.

but i digress.

so the girl in lane 2, i noticed like all other new cashiers at h-e-b, was examining IDs like there was no tomorrow. so yeah. maybe when i have more time, i'll go to her lane. you know, so she'll know better next time. but then again, seeing as how i plan on moving out of this city by the end of july, maybe i won't. meh. i probably even be drinking tonight since i have that proofreading test tomorrow afternoon at ut press. meh. beer good.
