barf me out, gag me with a spoon

so for the second time in less than a week, tonight, i was spotted for a band i was in several years ago. it first happened on saturday at room 710, when some guy came up to me at the bar and asked me if i used to have a green mohawk and was in a band called the dewitties. i said yeah and he said he loved our covers of "yesterday once more" by the carpenters and "white girl" by x. then tonight, not less than 45 minutes ago, i ran into another guy at hole in the wall who recognized me and said that he loved our all percusion cover of "valley girl" by frank zappa.

i'm feeling a little weirded out by it all. i mean, the dewitties were only around for 6 months several years back. we had a total of 12 gigs, 1 of which was at emo's. and it was early. the others were at various places in san antonio, mostly the white rabbit. i don't know. when i told joel about it on saturday, he told me to just go with it. and i know i should, but it's still a little weird. i mean, i haven't been in a band since the dewitties. and even then, i kept our gigs on the lowdown from people i knew because i didn't want people i knew to go to my shows. gah.

i guess i'm just weirded out from this latent rock figure status i've received in less than a week. if i run into someone else by the end of this week who remembers me from the dewitties, i think i'll go apeshit. ok, back to your regularly scheduled blog.

um, i like aqua teen hunger force. and the venture brothers. and i like that larry likes that i like both of those. and that i got it when he said "go team venture" at work. i love larry. ok, i'm just drunk enough to pass out now. smell you later.
