Busy day. I woke up at 11, which is late for my current standards, and promptly went along my way. First off was a trip to my new neighborhood post office to buy some stamps and send off some bills. After that was a jaunt to Waterloo, where I bought two Meat Purveyors albums (finally), rebought the Slum City album (which I found out yesterday broke up about a year or so ago), and the new Michael Penn. Good stuff.
Then I went to my new neighborhood comic book store, Austin Books. All I have to say is I'm in love. Seriously, I love this store. And I wanted to spend much, much, much more than the large amount of money I did there today.
After that, I came home to await the cable guy, who was on his way to hook up my cable and Internet. When that was done (and by the way, I still have my free HBO!), I decided to fill the void from the massacreing I gave my wardrobe last weekend. So I headed to the Goodwill on Norwood. And I realized again why I am not a fan of shopping at Goodwill. Everything is always out of order, as in the clothes, while being in categories, are never further categorized by size, which leads to lots of time looking through clothes that you don't fit into. And I also don't like their prices. I bought to shirts there for $11. So after that experience, I decided to go Savers on South Lamar. And, as usual, I found tons of stuff I wanted. I bought two pairs of pants, two dress shirts, and one T-shirt for $15. Eat that, Goodwill.
So now I'm back home, reading some comics, blogging, and getting ready to leave in an hour or so to Emo's so I can see Gravy Train!!!! with opening act Awesome Cool Dudes. ACD is one of my fave local bands, and GT, well, how can you not love an electro-pop dance/interpretive dance band? Seriously?
Now, I could have been a bit more productive by acutally getting around to organizing my apartment a bit more, but, meh, that's what Sundays are for. OK, gotta jaunt to buy some batteries so I can take pics at the show. Smell y'all later.
