my new favorite pastime

So I think my new favorite thing to do of late is come up with lies to tell my coworkers as to why I cannnot lunch/hang out with them. For lunch, I've come up with a couple of standards, such as "I have to go pic up some freelance work," "I'm broke and don't like others buying my lunch," "I have to go desposit some checks from my freelance work," and my favorite "I have tons of errands to run, sorry."

I get a little more creative with why I can't go to happy hours after work. So far, I've used "My niece is sick, and I have to go visit her in San Antonio," "I have yoga, and it's the only time I've been able to go this week," "I have to go pick up a friend from the airport," and my latest, "I have band practice for this band I'm trying to get together."

All are blatant, filthy lies, and I love each one of them.

Speaking of bands, The Meat Purveyors and Pong are playing tonight at Hole in the Wall. TMP starts around 10 p.m. Be there for some of that killer lifestyle, and Saturday morning afternoon, you'll be wondering how you can be so thirsty when you have so much to drink last night.
