OK, I was reading this at work, and it totally made me laugh out loud. I mean, we've all had our poor stories, but a poor-off! that's fucking brilliant!

also, my editor for where i sometimes do some freelance sent over this joke via e-mail to all the freelancers ... it too made me laught for i used to be a designer and know all these fonts. sigh. i'm a dork. my editor prefaced the joke with "too bad i couldn't think of one. bad
break, i guess:)"
So here's the joke:
acq ed: A font walked into a bar, and the bartender said "Get out of here—we don't serve your type."
a different acq ed: you forgot to mention that this font was delivering something. It was a courier, after all.
mktg copy writer: But not a very smart one, apparently. Must have been a bembo.
ed: Ha Ha. I laughed so hard I lost my serif.
asst: That silly font—thought he was so bold, but he wouldn't have made any Impact.
