the ides of mando

Yay for decompressing time. This week hasn't been as hellish as the past few weeks at work. Well, for me, at least. There's this other major project going on that I've luckily been able to be not involved in, but I still feel bad for my boss and the interactive designers, who have no choice but to be involved in said project. Oh well. I've been slowing acclimating to doing some of my boss's job as well as my job. It'll feel a little weird when I (eventually) go back to just doing proofin'.

In other news, I recently reconnected with an old friend I'd lost touch with. We go back to junior high and some of high school, which is where we kinda started losing touch because he moved to a neighboring town, and started hanging out with new people, and blah blah blah. But I'm glad that we've reconnected because now I have someone to talk to about comics, even if he is all the way down in Brownsville. Oh well. I'm trying to convince him that Austin is much better, and Ii'm sure once he visits and I take him to Austin Books, he'll be fully convinced. Because, let's face it, I'm tired of being the token comic book geek. Isn't enough that I'm usually the token gay? And token spic? I rest my case.

In more other news, the ex and I hung out yesterday and today. And it didn't feel awkward. I think this whole being friends thing just may work out. Today I helped him buy a new LCD, and he may give me (or sell me) his old 15-inch LCD. And he's gonna help me buy a new computer at the end of the month (I hope). So I finally may be getting rid of this relic that I've been using. Although, I'm feeling a little torn about that. Me and my current comp have been through a lot together. I feel bad about getting rid of it. But, you know, it'll be nice to compute on a machine that doesn't run on Windows ME anymore. Jeez.

Uh, I think that's all. I rented a bunch of movies yesterday that I haven't really had a chance to watch. I did rent this old tape of the Spider-Woman cartoon, which I vaguely remember catching glimpses of as a kid. OMG, that cartoon was HORRIBLE! The cartoon version of Spider-Woman in no way resembles the comic book version. That may just be a post for later this week. Yeah. OK, that's all. Now back to your regularly scheduled weekend.
