Now, I've made it no secret that I suffer from psoriasis (and you don't know how close I was to naming this post "psoriasissy"), but I don't talk about it that much, either. I just recently had another flare up, and went to my lovely dermatologist today for various ointments and lotions and such. Now, let me back up and say that I've had this one psoriasis plaque on the left side of my nose for a while. It's unsightly, and I'm not very fond of it (and haven't been since I got it). Since that particular plaque has been so unresponsive to treatment, my dermatologist today suggested something that she's suggested before — a steroid shot* to my nose! Which I agreed to. Hence the "ouch!" So now I'm at work, with a bandage on the left side of my nose (because I bleed a little from the shot), and wondering if my nostril might go all Hulk on me. Right now it's still very Bruce Banner. Oy. Can I go home yet?
*Corticosteroids are one of the more common treatments for psoriasis. Read up on other treatments at the National Psoriasis Foundation website.
