money crap: i e-mailed the h.r. lady at the last place where i freelanced to see why the invoice that should've been paid out last thursday, well, why i hadn't received it yet. she forwarded the e-mail to someone in accounting and they told me that i'm up shit's creek. essentially, some of the shit i worked on that i billed time to back in august was holding my money up. something to do with estimates or shit like that. (don't ask me; i'm just a girl.) but apparently, my first and third/last invoices from august were paid out today, so i should get it in the mail saturday (hopefully; it's coming from new york). but my second invoice (which should've gotten paid out this week)? it should (emphasis theirs, not mine) get paid out next week. but it could also not. shit. shit. shit.

still unemployed: monday will mark my monthiversary of unemployment. i really need a job. this week, i've gotten three rejection e-mails from places i applied at, well, a month ago. i'm expecting more rejection e-mails to come from other places that were jobs that all they really required was a degree and no experience. today, i started seriously perusing the admin. asst. ads to see what i could apply for. i found a couple that i'm hoping to maybe get, but i also realized that i'm not qualified for a lot of admin. asst. jobs. which is kinda sad. oy.

cupboards, bare: i was hungry and thought i'd heat up one of the cans of soup i have in my cupboard. only to find out that most of the cans were marked "best if used by" more than a year ago. and some cans were bloated. not good. so i had to get rid of most of the canned stuff in my cabinet, because, you know, i don't want botulism. but this has moved up my grocery buying, which i was holding off on until my cupboards were barer than they were. (not to mention how bare my fridge and freezer are.) too bad i don't have much money for food. or anything else. shit.

stuff i've been watching: besides the crap i watch on tv, i've been downloading other stuff to watch. i wanted to do a longer post about this, but i don't have it in me. so here's this. if you haven't seen dead like me, you should. same goes for the cartoon legion of super-heroes and the new season of weeds (bill sussman!). this weekend, i hope to finally start watching the third season of medium (which i largely forgot about this past season because it moved to wednesday nights, which i devote to reading my new comics). also, i'm in love with the new american express commercial with tina fey. "no, the other kind of german shepherds." so tina. also, i've been enjoy the promos for the new season of the sarah silverman program. high-larious.

crisis on infinite cars: ok, not really infinite, but my car. for the past couple of weeks, the bake light has been flickering on and off, and it was freaking me out because, well, i don't have the money to take it to a garage to figure out what's wrong with it. then i thought of something. brake fluid. maybe all it needs is brake fluid. and yup, that was it. it was teetering just right below the minimum line. so filled it up with some brake fluid i had in my trunk and, viola, no more flickering light. yay.

the jew in me: rosh hashanah is tomorrow! so, you know, repent and self-examine for 10 days until yom kippur. or call stephen colbert's 1-800-OOPS-JEW.
