at nasty's tonight

i had a bad shift at work, so i decided to go to nasty's for a soothing, post-work drink or two (or three). it was, to say, an interesting experience.

first off, i ended up having a nice conversation with the girl bartender, who came out and bummed a cig from me. and it was nice. we talked about work, and stress, and moving. it was a nice conversation.

second, some drunk guy came up to me and we talked about working from home, and the bullshit that some little piece of paper (read: college degree) puts you through to get a job sometimes.

but most importantly (and this can be attested to by several text messages to leanne on the subject), there was this indian guy there who so desperately needs to come out of the closet. he was there on what seemed like a date with a slutty looking white girl. but every time she left the table to go to the bathroom or get another drink, he'd obviously check me out. and i mean obviously. i mean, i think i'm obvious when i check out guys, but this took the cake. the only thing that would've made it more obviously would be if he were grabbing his crotch while looking at me. and he talked about how his parents had an arraigned marriage, and they didn't want that for him, but that didn't stop family members from trying to set him up with nice girls. and how he really likes independent women. and how he feels more comfortable around frat guys than girls. and how he's, and i quote, "never been interested in dating girls" and how he thinks he's "asexual". and his mannerisms were so, so, so gay. i really wanted to go over to him, slap him, and say "you like cock. get used to it. now cross the street with me." because he was actually rather fetch.

sigh. and now, it's time for sleep.

also, there was a girl there dressed like amy poehler in lady business. and she sat at my table for a while. i tried my best to not ask her if it was womandatory.

update, 3:33 am: oh, i forgot to mention how the guy also talked about the this american life podcast, and most notably how he talked about the testosterone podcast. the podcast that had the tal members getting tested to see who had the most testosterone, and of the male members, it ended up being david rakoff. yeah, the gay guy ended up having the most testosterone. eat it!
