ok, this is my second attempt at this post because compie decided to freeze up on me right before i was about to hit the publish button.
so it just dawned on me that i'm not going to make the rasputina show at emo's on tuesday. that makes me a little sad because i haven't missed a rasputina show in two years. this will only be the second rasputina show i've missed since 1997. and i mean only the shows that have come to texas, as in central. not that i wouldn't mind following rasputina around the country. it would probably be pretty nifty.
eh, it's probably for the best, anyway. i mean, the show starts at 8 p.m., which is odd for rasputina standards because i don't think i've ever been to a rasputina show that started before 11 p.m. if not midnight. so since the show starts so early, i'll still be at work. and even though it lands during my lunch break, well, lunch breaks kind of disappear around this time of the year. i'm sure i won't miss melora saying that "the mayor" is about austin mayor willie nelson. i'm sure i won't miss their cover of "barracuda." i'm sure i won't miss "state fair," "endomorph," "wicked dickie," "if your kisses can't hold the man you love," "thee olde headboard," "rose k.," "how we quit the forest" ... ok, so maybe i will miss it a bit.
sigh. oh well, there's always the gravy train!!!! show in august. i'll definitely be there.
