so if the whole proofreader by day/rock star by night doesn't work out for jo, then that red jacket she's been wearing lately might come in handy.
so when i woke up today, i realized upfront season is right around the corner. for those of you who don't know what upfronts are, these are the events where networks reveal their fall lineups to a large group of media and advertisers in order to get, well, advertisers to advertise during their shows in the fall. the upfronts usually start at the end of may and last until around the second week of june. i have a feeling networks might be delaying their upfronts longer this yar due to just the abyssmal failure of most new shows this season.
but ok, back to the point at hand. Zap2It.com currently has a special section up on pilots that each network is considering. and for some odd fuckign reason, a lot of pilots, both for comedies and dramas, are based on real estate offices. can someone please tell me when real estate offices became the new thing to want to see on tv? seriously. abc is optioning one comedy and one drama, while nbc is optioning one comedy. now, that may not seem like a lot, but the fact that there are three shows out there with basically the same idea that a real estate office makes good tv is rather strange.
but who knows; maybe it'll take off. i mean, look at CSI/NCIS/Without A Trace. maybe real estate will be the new thing. maybe real estate will get so popular that every network will try to have at least 10 shows about real estate.
geh. i hope not.
