Apartment Update: The Saturday Edition

note: The Saturday Edition should not be confused with New Edition. Otherwise, Bobby Brown will end up at my place, coked out, asking for more coke. And damn it, I hate Whitney Houston, and you know he'd bring her skinny ass with him. So yeah. No confusion. Now back to your regularly scheduled post.

So I saw an apartment today. Well, I saw two. One was kinda shitty small--er, I mean, it was "cozy." The other was much bigger and nicer. The smaller one was cheaper with more bills paid. The larger one was a bit more with less bills paid. I filled out an application for the smaller one. Yeah. I'm not too happy about it, but ... I need a place to live. If all goes well, I'll be moving into this new place next Saturday.

I can't really complain. The apt is near 38th and Guadalupe. It's close to I Heart Video, Amy's Ice Cream, Central Market, and other nifty things. And it will be nice to finally be able to be home like 5-10 minutes after getting out of work and not 30-40 minutes.

Although now ... I'm kinda starting to miss San Marcos. I've had some good times in this town, as well as a hell of a lot of bad times. But I'm trying to remember the good times. I remember getting into bars when I was still 20. I remember all the good, drunken times had at Tap Room, Restless Wind, and Showdown. I remember the yummy veggie burgers at Tap Room and the deliciousness that are Alvin Ords and Rivendell. I remember the time I was so fucking drunk on Scooter's birthday and threw up at Draft Choice and got us kicked out. I remember hanging at the dorms with Leanne and Amy, and all the fun times had with Matt and Tanya at their apartment, and hanging out with Rebecca and all the hot guys that end up being around her. Yeah.

OK, so I need to go to H-E-B again and buy some packing tape because I forgot to buy some when I went there several hours ago. My defense for forgetting: I was hungry and was thinking only of buying food. Which explains why I bought 5 avocados and now have only 3. And to that I say "mmm. avocado sammich. droooooool." Hmmm...maybe I'll buy some Lone Star with my packing tape. If only my parents and sister and brother-in-law and niece weren't coming over. (I really don't want them to come over.) Gah.

In other news:
While in Austin, I went to BookPeople and bought trades of Runaways, The Invisibles, and The Authority. Runaways is one I wanted to get into, and now that I'm halfway through, I can say I'm honestly hooked. The Invisibles and The Authority are collections of comics I had to sell a while back to make things meet. It's nice to read these old, wonderful stories again. OK ... that's all.
