This makes me muy triste

Gawker reports that Jane Pratt is stepping down as editor of Jane magazine. Jane was one of the only women's mags I could stand, and it was partially because of Pratt herself. I was a big fan of her first magazine, Sassy, before it got made over into a piece of shit in its later years. Sassy was great. It introduced me to a lot of the bands I love today (Juliana Hatfield, bikini kill, bratmobile) and was unabashed in its quirky humor. But that was in its hayday. Jane has also been great, although I only tend to read it when I'm at the bookstore. Sigh. Here's hoping Jane doesn't go the way of Sassy and just become another Vouge clone.
