the one about broccoli and cheese rice ...

So this is similar to my bread post from last week.

I went to H-E-B last night for a little grocery shopping. I found the latkes mix (so I don't have to endure the pain of making them from scratch), my spinach pizza ... and that was about it. I did have a frantic search for my beloved Mahatma Broccoli and Cheese rice mix. And I couldn't find it! It was the bread sitch all over again. I stalked up and down the rice aisle searching for my favorite rice. When I couldn't find it, I decided to look for my backup rice, Lipton's broccoli and cheese rice.

And they didn't have that either!

I've already decided to not ever get the Hill Country Fare broc-cheese rice because it fucking blows. So I sculked out of the rice aisle, knowing full well that the next day, during my lunch break, I'd go to the H-E-B near work, which has been ever so good to me.

So fsat forward to today, noon-ish. I head to the rice aisle at the H-E-B near work. I find some pilaf that wasn't on my list, but I still want it. I see the Mahatma products ... and there's no fucking broccoli and cheese rice! I swear, I could've had a panic attack right there if I hadn't been so hungry.

I was in shock. I mean, how can these two H-E-Bs not have the rice I was looking for? This one at least had the Lipton version, but still ... it's not my first choice.

So I headed back to work, tail between my legs. Then, on a wild hair, I decided to Google Mahatma Rice and see if there was a website. And there was! And you can order their products online! No more will I have to suffer from the indignities of H-E-B not carrying my favorite rice. No sir-e, Bob, I can just order my rice online! And cheaper than H-E-B, as well.

I just love happy, broccoli-and-cheese-rice-filled endings ...
