so i had an interesting weekend, none of which involved my writing any of the show recaps i've been saying i was going to do.
friday was pretty nifty. i had dinner with darien at mother's (where i've actually never eaten at before). i had these supremely delicious artichoke enchiladas that i'm drooling about just thinking of them right now. then we went to the cloak room (where darien had never been before) for a couple of drinks. then we came back to my place and watched shock treatment, because, surprisingly, darien's the first person i've met that's seen and loved said sequel to rocky horror.
saturday was full of shopping. i started off on my search for a new alarm clock. i went to the target closest to my abode of dwelling, and i couldn't fucking find an alarm clock! it frustrated me so much that i decided that if i couldn't find an alarm clock at wal-mart, that i was going to drive to san marcos to go to the target there, because i know where the alarm clocks are there. so i went to wal-mart ... and i found alarm clocks. i bought three, you know, just in case. after that i went to the half-price at lamar and koenig and bought some movies and comics. then i went home to make a little something to eat, then headed off to bookpeople to buy a couple of books, a couple of graphic novels, and the latest issue of martha stewert living. then i went home, got drunk, and didn't laugh much to the season premiere of saturday night live, which i had honestly forgotten was on, much like how i forgot the season premiere of smallville was thursday at the same time as the o.c.
sunday was a bit better. darien and i were going to go the the 1 p.m. showing of serenity at alamo south lamar, but we didn't leave on time, so we opted to wait out the time until the 3:45 showing by going to his place and watching parents, which he had rented just the day before. if you haven't seen parents, go out and rent it now. it's probably the best sick movie i've seen in a while. so after that, we ventured over to the alamo, bought our tickets, and proceeded to wait in line for what seemed like forever, mostly because my stomach was aching for some loving. we finally got seated not long before the movie was about to start, and had to change our drink order from shiners ... because they were out of shiner! how do you run out of shiner before 4 in the afternoon on a sunday? so we got rolling rocks instead, as well as large popcorn and the yummiest thing on the alamo menu -- the artichoke pizza. again, drooling just thinking of it. serenity, by the way, was fucking awesome. i almost cried at several points during the movie. sniff sniff. great. nifty. so after the movie, darien and i parted ways because i had laundry that was calling my name. so i did that, watched some tv, and then headed over to jo's around 10-ish for some drinks and catching up. it was fun. i hadn't hung out with my beloved jo in quite a while, and i was in need of a hot jo injection.
so yeah, that was my weekend. now i'm at work, stomach growling at me for some sustenance. but a trip to the bank is in store first. gah. and i'm thinking of skipping karaoke tonight, just because there's on particular show i've been procrastinating on watching, even though i love it, and i should play catch up with said show. ok, i think my stomach is winning this fight. shoo, now.
