sadness

so i just read that ann richards has passed away. this makes me sad, although i don't know why, really. well, i kinda do. i remember visiting austin for the first time when she was governor and i was still pretty much a kid and i had yet to preoccupy myself with politics, but i remember during that initial visit, i was determined to live here some day. and then, when i was old enough to occupy myself with such politics (read: 15 y.o.), she was already out of office. but i think the fact that she lent her voice and played herself on king of the hill and that one promo from the alamo drafthouse that they show before the movie starts with in it that says if you don't turn your phone off during the movie, ann richards will take you out, well, man, i miss her so much already. the lady was good folk.
