clean clothes are overrated

instead of doing much-needed laundry today, shopping ensued. first was a stop by austin books to finally pick up this week's new comics. then, off to bookpeople, where don't get too comfortable by david rakoff and girlfriend in a coma by douglas copeland were purchased. (a highlighter will be in close proximity at all times when reading commences on girlfriend in a coma, the better to catch all the smiths references.) after a brief, minor freakout after seeing someone that very closely resembled a former close friend, a visit to leanne at her place of employment took place, where the future gnomi malone was spotted. this visit was followed with a return to my humble abode, where comic book reading took place and laundry did not. now there is the lone star drinking and tv watching. now back to your regularly scheduled sunday night.

update (6:01 p.m., 11/13/06): there was also a trip to o'reily auto parts to purchase a new rear turn signal light. (this is around the third time this year the left one has gone out. maybe it's an electrical problem? or the fact that until yesterday there was the wrong kind of bulb in there. that's the more probable cause, eh?) thanks to the helpful worker gal who helped me be in there for less than two minutes. turning left is once again safe for me.

that's right, it is coupland. everytime i think of this author, i always think back to this girl i used to work with who got married and took her husband's last name, which was copeland, but her maiden name was ditto, which was great. and she really has nothing to do with douglas coupland besides having a similar last name for me to get confusey with. sigh.
