i worked till about 6:30-ish today, and right as i parked at my apartment complex and was about to turn off my car, i realized i needed sugarcubes. so i backed out of my spot, drove to h-e-b, and bought sugarcubes and beer. looks like my dinner tonight will again consist of beer. oy.today it dawned on me (well, not really, but today was when i admitted to my realization) why i enjoy working more with the interactive side of my department. because it works like a newspaper copy desk. traffic acts as the slot, and the designers design, and all the edits that really matter come from within us. and we all kinda know what we're talking about. and i'm progressively getting better at understanding what they do better and about circ plans and uploading crap and blah blah blah. i don't know; it's hard to explain it well written or if you haven't worked as a copy editor or in traffic at an ad agency.
lately (and i mean as in the past couple of weeks), when i get home i've been saying my favorite quote from batman returns (spoken by selina kyle): "honey, i'm home. oh, i forgot; i'm not married." it's funny and sad at the same time. is there a german compound word for that?
yesterday at whole foods i ran into the last copywriter that quit at work. i've been meaning to get in contact with her, but i've been alternating between lazy and really, really busy. but i miss her and would like to be friends with her. i'll get her contact info tomorrow from one of the people at work who has it. that is, of course, unless i'm really, really busy (like today and yesterday).
besides being too tired to even remember to go pick up my new comics (today being new comic day and all), it's been an all right day. i got to park in the spot that i like to park in that i never get to park in because, well, someone's usually parked there already. even though work was really, really busy and my supervisor was out (so i had to cover for her), i handled it all really well (if i do say so myself) and never got visibly upset and kept myself organized. it was weird. and i worked through most of lunch, and on most of my smoke breaks i either proofed something or made checklists while i smoked. (checklists have become my saviors. they help out a lot when you have an e-mail that was translated into 7 or 9 languages [i forget how many exactly] for 17 countries and going to different people and such.) and i got to talk to hot gig a lot today. (ok, so it was all work related. i take what i can get so i can create my poor, sad illusion that will be smashed to pieces one of these days. and, plus, hot.) what sealed my day was getting home, checking my mail, and finding the new pizza coupons from papa john's. why, you may be asking yourselves? because of this.

they should've just called it sausage fest and get it over with. i actually had to recline against the mailboxes because i was laughing so hard at this. oh my. ok, time for tv.
