funny in a not-so-funny way

back when i worked at the harlingen newspaper, i pretty much got thrust into a management position overnight. at the time, copy desk had only one intern. and i got along with him ok. but once i got put into the chief position, well, drama. we pretty much spent the rest of his internship hating each other, and i'm pretty sure he worked slower than usual (he was a pretty fucking slow copy editor and page designer) just to piss me off.

anyway. i find it funny now to see his myspace page and see that he's become really good friends with people i used to be really good friends with (and that i'd probably still be really good friends with had they not moved or stayed in the valley). and i see that we have enough in common and enough not in common that we could've been friends.

but nope. we were assholes with each other. and he'll always be the first asshole to have undermined me in my first real supervisory role. and i'm sure my formerly good friends are having a better time being friends with him because he's not me. whatever. i need another drink.

could i be any more self-loathey? probably. oh, wait, that was rhetorical. nevermind.
