thanks for what i was supposed to get anyway

so we got our annual bonuses at work today. i was out either at lunch or a smoke when my boss-boss was passing them out, so i had to go to his office to get it. and he was all "this is from the CEOs; it's their money, so maybe thank them or something." (can you tell i paraphrased?)

i didn't really say anything to that. but really, why do i need to thank them for something i'm technically supposed to be getting anyway? it's part of why i took the job in the first place. on my "intent to work" letter i had to sign before getting hired, part of it was an up to 10 percent EOY bonus if the company turns a profit.

and how do you thank that without sounding like an ass? (well, if you're me, how to do you thank your CEOs for doing something that's kinda stipulated in my not-contract.) do i get them a membership to the jelly of the month club?

whatever. at least i can buy a new digital camera now. and put a duela dent in my student loans.

bah.
