so my check card has been declined last night and today. it was really annoying, but luckily i've had enough cash on me to cover what i was going to buy. but it pissed me off a lot when it happened at whole foods today because the cashier's pretty much know me because i go there for lunch quite a bit (read: 3-4 times a week).
when i got back to work, i checked my account again. yup, i have more than enough money for my card to not be declined. so i called my bank. after a few minutes and some digging, the rep said there had been a fraud hold put on my card. it took all my pitiful might to not scream "what fucking fraud hold!" into the phone.
after trying to get me to sign up for a credit card from my bank, i got transfered over to the fraud division. once the fraud rep picked up, i was put on hold again. apparently, someone in a city i've never been to tried to withdraw $502 dollars from my account at an ATM. on february 17. and my account just got put on hold yesterday. march fucking 8. and no one ever called me to ask if the suspicious activity was mine.
again, i held in my anger and didn't scream into the phone. my check card has been cancelled, and i'm supposed to get a new one within a week. in the mean time, it's withdrawal slips and check writing for me. oh, and the fraud rep tried to get mad at me because i hadn't updated my account with my current phone number. fuck you.
it also makes me wonder how my frauder got a hold of my check card number and my pin. and i really hope he was white. just so i can say "whitey tried to get my down."
bah.
