I don't know if I've mentioned it in a previous post, but I just renewed my lease for my apartment for another year. It's not that I love my apartment that much (it was the best I could do last year when I had like two weeks to vacate my previous apartment); I just hate moving that much. And it's been a while since I've lived in the same place for two consecutive years. I can't even remember when I last did.
Anyway, now that I'm staying put, I decided I need to start making my apartment feel more like, well, me. First thing I did was put up some "curtains" over my living room windows (and by "curtains", I mean a black bed sheet), so now my living room is nice and not filled with sunshine until nearly 9 p.m. or whatever ungodly time the sun sets during the summer. I also really, really need a vacuum cleaner, which I will buy with my next paycheck. And maybe I'll try to grow a plant or something on my patio (which I haven't even been out on since ... January, maybe?). And I need a new computer (which I will have by the end of July; I've given myself a deadline on that one). Maybe some new bookshelves. Maybe I'll finally put something up on my walls besides take-out/delivery menus.
The point is, this is my home, so I might as well make it feel more like one. And with the extra money I have from not having a car payment anymore, I should be able to do this. Anyway. That's all.
